Don’t miss out on free swimming lessons

DOUGLASDALE – Aqua Marine Aquatics Academy invites children for free swimming lessons which will be offered in Douglasdale starting on 6 July.

Aqua Marine Aquatics Academy in Douglasdale is set to host the fourth Swim England and Amateur Swimming Association and Teachers Training Course.

The academy has eight candidate teachers doing their courses from across the country. With the considerable amount of practical hours in the pool, where teachers will be working with swimmers based on the theory they’ve been taught, Aqua Marine is offering their clients and the public the opportunity to have free swimming lessons throughout the duration of the course.

Head coach of the academy, David Gal outlined the purpose of the course. “We are providing the teachers an opportunity to better their qualifications within the swimming industry and with winter being fantastic, we decided to open it up to the community and of course there’s a practical side of it for the teachers.”

Children from the ages of three to 12 are encouraged to apply. “Parents can contact us via email or call us directly. It’s structured, so once they apply they’ll be placed in the appropriate session. We need to take into consideration that there are legalities when dealing with minors so parents will have to give their consent.”

The children will be taught the basic fundamental skills of swimming. “This will be game-based orientation. Kids will be playing games and from that point of view it will give the teachers more structure and the swimmer will benefit. Above that, we want people to understand that the aquatics industry is not just an extramural for parents, we’re trying to build aquatic awareness around swimming.”
