Watch: MMC Nico de Jager says there won’t be any shortage of water during the planned water maintenance

BRIXTON – The MMC held the press briefing after their office received calls of concerns of the planned 54-hour maintenance work.

The MMC for Environmental and Infrastructure Services, councillor Nico de Jager held a press briefing addressing some concerns from residents after they announced a planned 54-hour major water maintenance on 24 June.

At a briefing which was held at Brixton Water Tower, De Jager discussed new interventions which have been put in place to ensure that the Johannesburg municipality is least affected by the maintenance work. The current reservoirs will be filled up by Monday to avoid a no-water situation.

Residents have been urged to use water sparingly.
