Integration of tech in the classroom

PAULSHOF – Education and information technology went hand in hand during the EdTech Conference held at St Peter's Prep School recently.

St Peter’s Prep Schools had the privilege of hosting an EdTech Conference recently.

The focus of the conference was transforming education by understanding how technology can be used in schools.

There were delegates from 40 different schools from across South Africa. The keynote speakers highlighted the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the exploration of artificial intelligence and the importance of digital citizenship. Over 20 breakaway sessions were on offer and covered topics from coding and robotics to integration of technology in the classroom, and screen time choice to augmented reality, to just mention a few.

Pepper the robot (#Pepperrobotsa) made a special appearance to introduce a keynote speaker, which proved to be a highlight for the delegates. It certainly was a worthwhile event and brought together people who feel passionate about technology and education.
