Douglasdale police and Johannesburg Metro Police Department put 26 offenders behind bars
DOUGLASDALE – A total of 26 people were arrested over two days as part of a joint operation between the JMPD and Douglasdale police recently.
Joint Douglasdale police and Johannesburg Metro Police Department operations resulted in 26 behind bars. The arrests occurred around Douglasdale policing area from 10 to 12 May.
The suspects were arrested for different crimes, ranging from the pointing of a firearm, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, dealing in alcohol, driving while under the influence, shoplifting and drinking in public.
Among the arrested suspects, 16 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The suspects will appear at Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon. The police will continue with these operations to make sure that the area is a crime-free zone. Members of the community are advised to keep reporting all criminal activities to the police by phoning
