Kids arthritis campaign gets a big boost

FOURWAYS – Fourways dad Greig Hamilton and his fellow riders have raised more than R40 000 for kids with arthritis during the recent joBerg2C mountain bike challenge.

Fourways father Greig Hamilton, along with eight other riders, managed to raise more than R40 000 for the #KidsGetArthritisToo campaign.

Hamilton, whose son Gareth was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis last year, got a cycling team together to take on the joBerg2C mountain bike trail, a grueling 900km over nine days (from 26 April until 4 May).

The riders aimed to raise R30 000 for the Arthritis Kids South Africa organisation which provides information and support to families affected by juvenile arthritis.

Besides raising more than R10 000 extra during the experience, one of the riders involved also did amazingly during the journey.

“A special mention to Julian ‘Jules’ Bryant for winning the Veterans Solo Section overall,” Hamilton told the Fourways Review. “His achievement was special since we had top professional riders in this event.”
