Make Easter egg-citing for everyone in and around Fourways

FOURWAYS – Everyone deserves wonderful Easter holidays so read here to find out how you can assist those less fortunate.

As Easter fast approaches, many residents are beginning to prepare with chocolate treats, Easter bunny outfits and, of course, exciting Easter egg hunts. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to commemorate this festive time of the year with their families.

The Easter egg drive based in Fourways is there to put smiles on the faces of the less fortunate. Founder and director of the drive, Kelly Ann van der Meer, said that the reason behind this initiative is to ensure that everyone is happy during this season.

Easter holidays are a time for laughter, cheering and, of course, spending time with our loved ones but not everyone gets that opportunity, that’s why we’ve been running this Easter drive,” she said.

The drive will visit a number of old age homes, townships and children’s homes delivering Easter goodies. The drive has been running for two years now. “The previous year was a great success, as we collected about 10 000 donations and we are hoping to surpass that number this year,” she added.

With the weekend of Easter getting nearer, donations are still welcome as 20 April is the cut-off date. For further information, contact Kelly Ann van der Meer on 082 513 2042.
