Man killed in light motor vehicle accident

A man was hit and killed by a light motor vehicle on Witkoppen Road in Fourways on 26 March.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was found lying in the middle of the road by the ER24 paramedics. A light motor vehicle had already pulled over to the side of the road.

According to ER24, paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. 

“Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead,” said ER24.

The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
