4Paws receives a helping hand

4Paws receives a helping hand.

On 23 February the 4Paws Animal Shelter got a helping hand when 25 staff members from JC Security did volunteer work at the shelter.

From 10 am until 2 pm volunteers got their hands dirty and worked on the shelter grounds on three tasks in the cattery, which is where cats at the shelter are kept. They painted the cat houses, polls, benches and other items, placed a tarpaulin over a section of the area to provide shade for the animals and also donated and delivered pot plants to make the cattery look nicer.

The company also donated additional painting equipment to 4Paws which will be used in future projects at the shelter.

The volunteering formed part of the company’s aim to pay it forward to the community and because many of the staff are animal lovers.

“Our job is to protect the community,” explained JC Security’s chief operating officer Ryan Groenewald of the project.

“But we also want to improve it, we want to pay it forward.”
