Sandton Police nab alleged fraudster

SANDTON – A woman accused of fraud amounting to R60 000 was arrested recently in Sandton, according to Sandton police.


A 26-year-old bank estimator from Springs appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 5 March for alleged fraud amounting to R60 000.

The woman was arrested on 4 March following an investigation by Sandton Police Station detectives. She was working for an investment bank in Sandton.

It transpired that the complainant gave her money which she was supposed to transfer electronically to a car dealership. She allegedly transferred the money to a family member’s bank account instead. The complainant then reported her to the police. More arrests are expected in this case.
