Deppe calls for Jukskei clean-up team

MIDRAND – Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe is calling on the local community join a Jukskei clean-up committee.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe is calling on local residents to join a Jukskei River clean-up committee.

Deppe said although there were many entities involved in the maintenance of the river, she would like to start a clean-up group made up of local residents who would maintain the river between Leeuwkop and Waterval.

“This area is in need of much-needed attention. Whenever the heavy rains appear there is a lot of waste and debris that need to be cleaned up.”

The committee would host the clean-ups which would be on the third Saturday of every month starting in March.

If any residents are interested in joining this group they can contact Deppe on 082 886 8519.
