Ward 96 councillor reflects on 2018

Sbusiso Mthembu, councillor for Ward 96, reflects on 2018:

I wish the City of Joburg, and in particular Ward 96, a happy Christmas and a prosperous 2019.

This year was a very tough year for Ward 96, which was hit by strikes in Kya Sands which blocked the roads and [meant] business in the area could not operate and lost millions of rands.

The Pikitup insourcing issue really compromised the City of Johannesburg and myself as the ward councillor.

On a positive note, we managed to pull through and found solutions which benefited all.

The city had excellent service delivery achievements with very few water outages compared to 2017.
