Children in awe of Santa

DAINFERN – This is what children from Mama Koka's Crèche in Cosmo City enjoyed at Dainfern College.

Children of Mama Koka’s Crèche in Cosmo City paid a visit to Dainfern College and to their surprise, they met Father Christmas.

Grade 8 and 9 Dainfern College outreach volunteers were seen eagerly waiting with excitement for the arrival of the children for a morning of fun-filled activities.

According to the school’s Ashley van Aswegen, Father Christmas came in the form of their high school business studies teacher, Craig Morris who arrived to bring some Christmas cheer.

“The children expectantly filed into the multipurpose hall to see Father Christmas and his helpers,” said Van Aswegan.

“Father Christmas’s beard was tugged as he handed out sweet treats. Presents were scattered around the tree by Dainfern’s marvellous moms, Andie Smith and Mandy Meisel.”

Van Aswegen added that blowing bubbles, racing around the college’s green fields on scooters and making Christmas decorations were some of the activities that kept the children entertained which were all planned by the college’s head of outreach, Amber Oelschig.

“The children were treated to an ice cream treat and sang a song to say thank you to the volunteers before returning to Cosmo City, tired but happy and ready to play with their new toys.”

She expressed a huge thank you to Dainfern College’s outreach volunteers and sponsors whose generosity made the day possible.
