Shanice Radhalal exudes beauty, brains and benevolence.

Help local girl take the Miss Highschool SA crown this year and help empower young women across the country.

Shanice Radhalal, a grade 11 pupil at Crawford College Lonehill, started her modelling career two years ago.

She won the 2017 International Models and Talent Agency Commercial Model (IMTA) of the year along with an all–inclusive trip to New York to represent South Africa in July last year.

She was placed fourth amongst 160 countries in the commercial category. Radhalal was crowned first princess Miss Teen South Africa 2018 and second princess in Miss Teen Commonwealth this year. She won the debutant award for Miss Teen South Africa too.

Radhalal was selected one of 15 finalists in Miss Teen High School South Africa. The finals for this pageant will take place on 1 December, 2018.

Miss Teen High SA aims to identify bright, young individuals who will be ambassadors to represent high school students in South Africa in various initiatives, with the main one being to support the Girl Power Foundation (www.girlpowerfoundation.co.za) – the pageant has over the years seen the rise of some of the finest young ladies in the country.

‘The objective of the pageant is to empower young girls through education, participating in charity work therefore building social awareness and responsibility amongst them. This will also build confidence and leadership skills. The winning young ladies would also become role models in their schools, communities, other schools and to young children across the country.’ – Miss Teen High School South Africa.

Radhalal believes that it is vital for models to be more involved in fund raising to grow them as individuals and ambassadors.

She believes that pageants afford her the opportunity to stay focused and motivated to achieve her goals.

Radhalal is passionate not only for people, but for also animals and she aims to bring initiate a better life for all people and animals that she encounters. Although she considers monetary contributions necessary to bringing about change, she strongly believes that when you give your time, you are contributing portions of your life to making a difference.

On her own accord, at the age of 8 she became vegetarian as she strongly supported the fight against cruelty to animals. Her humility and kindness stem from her dedication and hours selflessly given to this very cause.

Radhalal has previously engaged sponsors to build an animal clinic in Soweto for SARAC (Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre) and has raised around R200 000 for this project to date. She has been engrossed in numerous charity events involved in assisting other animal shelters. Shanice has also hosted Christmas parties and has participated in the donation of clothing and food to the less fortunate.

If Radhalal wins Miss Highschool SA 2018, she has pledged to uphold to values of the title by empowering women to be confident, perceiving beauty in both their bodies and heart. Importantly, Shanice encourages women to feel comfortable in their clothes, and not feel that attire perpetuates rape culture. Furthermore, she would like to use the power of the title to assist in educating the community regarding the prevention of animal cruelty in their community and importance of pet sterilisation.
