Calling all Tortured Soul fans – make sure that 15th December is in your diary as one of the finest creators of soulful house music return to South Africa, due to popular demand, after a brilliant, and sold out show in 2017.
Tortured Soul is one of the world’s most groove-centred acts and are influenced by the likes of Prince, Heatwave and Kool & The Gang, the members of Tortured Soul are three distinctive guys with three different backgrounds, united under a groove-centered rhythm.
Their classic sound is most comparative to neo-soul groups like Jamiroquai or Brand New Heavies, and is also deeply saturated in the contemporary freshness of house purveyors like Joey Negro, Kenny Dope, Soul Clap and Disclosure.
Director of Bassline Live, Brad Holmes is excited to be bringing this music group back to Johannesburg, “The response from last year’s show was mind blowing and so it was a non brainer for us to bring this incredibly talented music group back to our beautiful city. I cannot think of a better way to end the year.”
Led by frontman John-Christian Urich, Tortured Soul was quickly picked up by New York-based deep house label Central Park Recordings and the group was officially launched to the world.  Since then it has become a staple amongst DJ’s across the globe and has received major airplay, including a number 1 on Kaya FM.
With their most recent album, ‘Hot For Your Love Tonight’, burning up dance floors with songs like ‘I’ll Be There For You’ and the Deep House-flavoured ‘Don’t Lead Me On’, Tortured Soul shows no signs of stopping.
The band will be performing for one night only at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on the 15th December 2018. The Show starts at 20h00 and tickets are R 250.
