Two suspects cuffed soon after woman’s cell phone is snatched from open car window on William Nicol Drive offramp

BRYANSTON – The stolen cell phone was recovered.

Two suspects were arrested after reaching into an open car window and grabbing a women’s cell phone from the car on the William Nicol Drive offramp from the N1 Highway today.

This is according to the Future City Fourways Facebook page.

“The Hot Squad team on the bridge spotted the perpetrators and immediately called for back-up from police,” read the post.

“A foot-chase ensued and both perpetrators were caught and arrested and police response vehicles arrived and took the perpetrators into custody.

“The cell phone were recovered. The complainant has opened a case at Douglasdale police.”

Future City Fourways commended the Hot Squad, Douglasdale police and the Flying Squad on the arrest. 

 

*In a previous version of this story, it was reported that victim’s handbag was stolen. However, it has recently come to light that it was, in fact, a cell phone that was taken.
