Douglasdale police are working tirelessly to tackle crime in the area.
This comes after police arrested 35 suspects for different crimes on the weekend of 4 to 6 August.
According to the head of communications for the Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, the suspects were arrested for possession of dagga, dealing in liquor without a licence, reckless and negligent driving, shoplifting, possession of suspected stolen property and drunk driving.
She explained that among the arrests, 22 were arrested for drunk driving during a joint operation between the police and Metro police.
“We encourage members of the community to continue to report any suspicious activities in their area by phoning the station.”
The suspects will appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
