Hirsch’s and Life Fourways Hospital team up for domestic empowerment with CPR demo

PINESLOPES – A partnership between Hirsch's Home Store and Life Hospital Fourways gave domestic workers the opportunity to learn CPR skills.

Hirsch’s Fourways and Life Hospital Fourways teamed up in June with a great idea to empower domestic workers and maybe even save lives.

Life Fourways’ marketing and communications manager, Jane Lamprey, arranged for one of their paramedics, Matthew Bostwick, to come to the Hirsch’s Fourways store to do a CPR demonstration for the Domestic Network.

The ladies were shown how to approach such an emergency and were split into three smaller groups where they each had a turn to run through the sequence of how to administer CPR. Bostwick also showed them how to work with infants.

Participants had the pleasure of naming the Domestic of the Month. This award went to Loveness Ndhlovu, who is an absolute gem according to her employer, Pam Peasey. She cooks, bakes and is generally Peasey’s right hand in everyday life.
