Woman of Stature Awards to take place in March
FOURWAYS – The Woman of Stature Woman of the Year Awards are coming up in March. Here's everything you need to know about attending the event.
The 2018 Woman of Stature Woman of the Year Awards will take place on 24 March at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg. Some of South Africa’s most prominent women will be competing for one of eight awards, including our very own Sharron Dingle from Hirsch’s Fourways.
The categories are:
- Woman in Community
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Woman in Finance
- Woman in Media and Woman in Healthcare
- Woman in Education
- Youth Ambassador
- Director Award
The annual Woman of Stature Woman of the Year Awards are not limited to any particular field of endeavour, and for this reason rank among the most prestigious awards in South Africa for women.
“Woman of Stature’s vision is to impact the lives of women in South Africa by empowering them to achieve their personal, professional and financial goals,” said director Charlotte du Plessis. “As part of our mission, we host an annual gala dinner to honour those South African women who make a significant contribution to the economy and their respective communities.”

“A percentage of the proceeds goes towards our charitable cause which is The Cradle of Hope, and our own Five Pillars of Empowerment programme to train, develop and uplift women across South Africa,” said Du Plessis who herself received recognition as the founder of Woman of Stature, being the 2016/7 winner of the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Achievers Regional Award for Strubens Valley.
Nominations have now closed, and Du Plessis said the present contingent of nominees includes women of distinction among South Africa’s civil and business communities.
“These nominees are prominent within their respective communities and have reached considerable heights within their careers. They each reflect our values and focus at Woman of Stature, which is empowering of women from all walks of life.”
