‘Please help me bring them home’

LONEHILL – Kelan Gerriety needs your help finding her lost cats.

Midrand resident, Kelan Gerriety writes:

On 14 January, myself and my one-year-old kittens set off from Midrand to Lonehill where they were going to the vet to be neutered. The vet met me in the driveway and helped take in the cat box, when it fell and broke and my cats ran away.

They were last seen in the Boschendal complex in Lonehill (on the corner of Crestwood Drive and Lonehill Boulevard). The residents there have a Whatsapp group and have all been on the lookout for my cats, but they haven’t been seen since the Sunday they escaped. We’re starting to think they’ve long left the complex. I have gone to all the Facebook groups I can think of, put up posters and handed out flyers, but still feel I’m not reaching enough people.

They are incredibly loving and friendly and it’s most likely that with the rainy weather lately they have found shelter with a very caring family. Because they are not neutered or chipped yet, it’s possible someone might believe they are homeless. However, they are very loved with us and very much missed.

Peach is a tabby cat with dark stripes on his back. There is a kink at the tip of his tail and he has green eyes and short, soft fur.

Please, if you’ve found my cats please let me know. I’ve been worried sick about them, I just need to know they are okay. I don’t think they can find their way home since it’s so far. Their brother is at home with me and since their disappearance I have noticed a big change in him, he’s lonely, especially in the morning when they’d play catches. He now tries to get me to play with him but it’s not the same and he gets quite despondent. He goes to their usual napping places often to look for them.

The missing cats are named Peach and Socks. Peach is a tabby cat with dark stripes on his back. He is lighter under his chin and around the eyes. There is a kink at the tip of his tail. He has green eyes and short, soft fur.

Socks is a lighter tabby cat with white around his face, neck, tummy and feet. The longest white sock is on his left front paw. He also has green eyes and short, soft fur.

Please help me find Peach and Socks and contact 076 789 9198. Any information you have is welcome.
