Douglasdale police hard at work, 44 arrests made

DOUGLASDALE – Read what 44 suspects were arrested for.

 

Douglasdale police officers arrested 44 suspects during a joint operation with Metro police from 5 to 7 January.

According to the head of communications for Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, the suspects were arrested for various crimes ranging from assault to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, drunken driving, dagga possession, dealing in liquor without a license and shoplifting.

“Among the arrested suspects, 35 of the suspects were arrested for drinking and driving,” Tshetlhane said.

She said the suspects are due to appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon.

“We would like to thank members of the community for the good working relationship and encourage them to keep on working together with the police.

“We encourage members of the community to continue reporting any suspicious activities in the area by contacting the police station.”
