Homemade car outfits and popcorn were the order of the day as children of Buttercup Preschool in Beverley, Lonehill, enjoyed a family fun day of a different kind.
“Our children arrived in their bright unique homemade cars. Some had made sports cars, some made trucks and some were army tanks – you name it we had it! All the cars were parked in rows like one would do at the drive-in. They were then given yummy popcorn whilst they watched their movie,” said Nadine Davidson, the secretary of Buttercup Preschool.
When asked what the reason behind the drive-in movie day was, Davidson explained that they decided to do something totally different that the children’s parents could partake in as well.
“There was method behind our madness. This was to encourage quality time at home with the children and their parents in making a fun cardboard box car for this event.”
Davidson expressed that the children loved every minute of their movie day and were so proud of their cardboard cars that they could sit in. “The parents seemed outstandingly enthusiastic and excited by the making of this project and the event.
“Most importantly we are a family and so passionate about what we do.”
