Help A Shelter is excited to announce the launch of a pet food drive in November.
This initiative will benefit rescue centres in the surrounding areas which are struggling with the influx of abandoned and unwanted dogs, especially over the holiday period.
Collection points will be set up in Fourways, details of which will be publicised when available.
Organisations wanting to take part in the drive can offer their premises as a collection point in Fourways. A food collection box will then be dropped off at participating organisations.
All monetary and food donations will be publicised.
Most suitable collection points are schools, grocery stores, workplaces, pet supply stores and veterinarians.
Rescue centres who will benefit from the food drive include PawsRus, The 9th Day Rescue, Maltese French Poodle Yorkie Rescue SA and 4ourPaws.
Food and donations can also be collected in surrounding areas.
