Clean-up of river in Fourways

FOURWAYS – Giving a local river a much-needed clean.

Future City Fourways (FCF) cleaned up the Juskei River recently. According to Future City Fourways chairman, Jean Berdou, the clean-up operation was a collective initiative which aimed to clean up portions of the Jukskei River in Fourways.

“The community, Metro police officers and ER24 participated in collecting and removing refuse. FCF collected and removed 65 bags of refuse. A total of 131 bags were filled and collected in total during the cleaning operation and were removed by Future City Fourways cleaners and Pikitup,” said Berdou.

Berdou said the clean-up exercise proved to be a big success, leaving a cleaner area.

“More of these clean-ups are planned and will be supported by FCF. Everyone’s assistance and participation is much appreciated. This complements the executive mayor’s monthly clean-up programme, A Re Sebetseng, and as a collective will also improve the Fourways public space.”
