Manzi plays her part and reaps rewards

FOURWAYS – Philantropist honoured for her work with women and girls.

A spotlight has been shone on Fourways resident, Pontsho Manzi’s work in the development of girls and women through schools outreaches, skills development and entrepreneurship training in townships and rural areas of South Africa.

This when Manzi, the CEO of Bonisa Media, publisher of Fabulous Woman Magazine and the founder of Fabulous Girls Foundation, scooped another award at the Owami Women Recognition Initiative Awards recently at La Toscana, Montecasino.

The Owami Women Recognition Initiative, in association with the Play Your Part, a Brand SA initiative, recognised Manzi, who also the 2014 SA Premier Business Awards Entrepreneur of the Year Award winner and Play Your Part Award winner.

She is a Play Your Part ambassador involved in many women empowerment initiatives.

Receiving the award, Manzi spoke about the challenge of helping women press the ‘start’ button towards positively contributing to their local communities by starting businesses or redirecting their careers while assisting girls in high schools to also find their place. The Fabulous Woman Magazine, in association with Bonisa Media, has established Sisterhood Charter dialogues to unite women in the corporate and business world with the deliberate purpose of removing barriers that stall the rise of women in various careers.

Themed around her book, Sisterhood Charter, Manzi started the dialogues to create a platform for women to engage and find solutions to factors that ‘militate against the progress of women in their corporate and business careers, especially those caused by bitterness, envy and unhealthy rivalry amongst women’.

She added, “It is absolutely wonderful and humbling to be recognised for work that you are called to do. The women empowerment activism journey is only successful if it comes from a deep sense of purpose and willingness to give everything just to see other women succeed in their chosen careers.”

“Helping women is my God-given purpose and all glory goes to Him alone. Any recognition directed at me I accept with the understanding and humility that I am an instrument of His grace”, she said when accepting the award.
