Aqua Athlete Sunninghill co-hosts swimming camp

SUNNINGHILL – Youngsters refine their techniques at swimming camp.

Aqua Athlete Sunninghill co-hosted another successful training camp for young aspiring swimmers, and for the second time, it was at Northcliff High School.

Children from across Joburg came to the camp to prepare for upcoming school, regional and national swimming galas.

Head coach, Ashley Dixon said the weekend proved a great success and saw high energy levels from the youngsters.

“We worked specifically on stroke techniques for all four strokes, as well as starts and turns,” he said.

“The children wanted to refine their techniques and take their swimming to a higher level.”

He added that beginner and elite swimmers attended the camp, and everyone learnt something and developed their passion for swimming.

“We got to create dreams. So many of the children want to become like the people they see on TV, achieve the highest level and become the best they can be.”

While Aqua Athlete Sunninghill has not chosen a date for the next training camp, its swimmers will compete in upcoming galas.
