Norscot teenager Alexandra Mundell made South Africa proud when she recently represented the country at the World Freestyle Dance Championships in Blackpool, England.
Mundell (18) is currently in Grade 12 at St Stithians Girl’s College and dances at the Dance Zone International at Bryanpark where she is trained by the doyen of freestyle dance in South Africa, David Jones, as well as Steven Noall.

During the championship, Mundell placed second in the adult premier slowdance section and placed fourth in the adult premier solo section.
“This is the fourth year that Alexandra has competed at the World Championships in Blackpool,” explained Patrick, Mundell’s father. “These are her best results to date.”
She is also the current South African 16 to 18 freestyle slowdance and solo champion and overall South African Champion of Champions.
The championships is an annual competition which sees some of the top dancers in the world competing against one another.
