All styles of dancers, from poppers, b-boys, duos, crews and krumpers, went head-to-head in different styles in Fourways.

Along with dancing, poetry, DJ’s and graffiti set the culture of the dance competition. More than 500 fans and first-time spectators watched the battle. Cantara, who hosted the event, created an amazing atmosphere and celebrated MOR’s 11-year anniversary.

Masters of Rhythm is an epic experience for both the dancers and the audience.

Mernoly Simba, the founder of the event, was impressed with the talent shown and said he looks forward to making sure next year’s event is even bigger and better.

Simba also added that krump dance was the biggest category with more than 100 dancers trying out for the winning title.

“I am very pleased with the support we received this year, especially from the krumpers,” said Simba. In fact, he was so impressed with this category that he plans to create a separate event where only krumpers will compete and do krump battles.

At the event, Empire Crew won the overall best dance crew.
