A future in sport

FOURWAYS – Sax Chirwa is an educational sports enthusiast and wants to make sporting waves at Safikend Primary School. Read here for more information.

Sax Chirwa would like to introduce physical education and co-curricula, which will include effective written and verbal communication, facilitating group discussions, problem-solving, developing rapport, organising, meeting goals and managing groups.

Beginning with Sefikeng Primary School, based in Leeukop Prison, in and around Johannesburg.

Chirwa would like to find sponsors for this uplifting initiative. “I coach rugby at the school in my own time and the school has nothing, let alone no sport in the afternoons. I took this up onto myself and try to help as much as I can. I played professional rugby for the Lions and in Ireland for seven years; I know how important sport is,” said Chirwa.

Maths as a requirement for accounting could fall away

Chirwa has maintained the highest of standards within a diverse range of functions that have focused on youth sports management. “The education sector and I would like to start a physical education, co-curricula and rugby programme at disadvantaged primary schools.”

He has extensive experience in school management, sports management, coaching and teaching and wants to add new perspectives and ideas to the physical education, co-curricula and rugby programme.

“I know I can be a key player in this programme and I would like the chance to prove this. I am looking for a sponsor to help out in building a field, resurface a tennis court, build a jungle gym and supply sporting equipment for the school.”
