1 killed, 1 seriously injured in collision on Main Road, Glenferness
GLENFERNESS - Very serious collision near the intersection of Main and Dunmaglass roads in Glenferness leaves one dead and one injured.
Paramedics of Netcare 911 and other ambulance services, the police and fire department responded to a serious collision near the intersection of Main and Dunmaglass roads in Glenferness AH, Midrand at about 3.30am on 14 August.
Nick Dollman, media liaison at Netcare911 said two vehicles were involved in the collision. The incident and preceding events would form part of a police investigation.
“Tragically the female driver of the car had sustained severe injuries and had died prior to our arrival,” said Dollman. “The male passenger in the car had sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.”
The male driver of the other vehicle was detained by the Metro police at the scene.
Firefighters of Lonehill Fire Station used the Jaws of Life to access and remove the deceased woman who was trapped in the wrecked car.
