Puppies leave Ark, not in pairs, but in droves

FOURWAYS – Ark Animal Rescue Centre had a successful adopt-a-puppy day, read about the fun they had and the heart-warming news they have to share.

The Ark Animal Rescue Centre puppy adoption day was a massive success as families and friends joined the puppies in a fun-filled day on Saturday, 1 July. Pedigree agreed to give away a full bag of Pedigree dog food for every empty bag of dog food that the community brought with them.

“Lots of people came through with their empty bags of dog food and swapped it for brand-new Pedigree ones; on top of that, we homed over 20 puppies and dogs this weekend,” said Candice Eilertsen, marketing manager of Ark Animal Rescue Centre in Fourways.

Over 30 community members arrived and helped out at the shelter, each of them received a sachet of Pedigree wet food and went to feed it to their favourite dog in the shelter.

“One of our old Ark babies called Dipsy came through on the day to visit with her empty bag of food. She was bottle fed by one of her foster moms and has been adopted by her absolutely obsessed dad. She even has her own Instagram account called @DipsyThePuppy, it’s the cutest account ever,” said Eilertsen. She concluded by thanking everyone who went to spend quality time with all the dogs.
