US embassy celebrates gathering of seventh leadership centre cohort

JOBURG - The US embassy celebrated the seventh cohort of one of president Barack Obama's Regional Leadership Centres at Midrand Unisa.

The US embassy celebrated the seventh gathering of the Young African Leadership Initiative Regional Leadership Centre (RLC) cohort on 24 April at the Midrand Unisa School of Business Leadership.

RLCs were founded in 2014 by former United States of America president Barack Obama in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya and Senegal. The aim of the centres was to encourage transformational learning and enhanced leadership skills.

This year, 130 participants from 14 countries in the Southern Africa region took part in the six-week training programme and will graduate on 5 May at Unisa in Midrand.

The next application period for the Young African Leadership Initiative RLC opens on 5 June.
