Feeding tummies one slice of time

FOURWAYS – Read about how hungry tummies are fed.

Brecia House School in affiliation with Black Cat and Albany decided to stick bread slices together in an attempt to feed more than 1 000 people in need.

School personnel, schoolchildren, parents and familiar South African personalities came together on 12 April with an ambitious desire to spread love and fill empty tummies. This came about as part of Black Cat’s school revamp campaign.

Celebrity mom Leanne Dlamini said, “Making these Black Cat peanut butter sandwiches for others in need warmed my heart; I’m so used to making my kids favourites every day and today I get to feed other kids that truly need good sustenance for their day.”

The 3 000 sandwiches were then delivered to The Witkoppen Clinic who Brescia House supports.

The Witkoppen Health and Welfare Centre is a comprehensive primary non-profit healthcare centre with social services in Fourways. The centre sees thousands of children and adults on a daily basis. The other half of the Black Cat peanut butter sandwiches were sent to Abagani Enkpsoni (Enkosini) in Alexandra which feeds 250 kids daily.

“Black Cat is giving us all an inspiring opportunity to help play our part in educating and motivating the leaders of tomorrow. We urge you to engage and empower the kids of South Africa by doing your bit in your community,” said Black Cat brand manager, Vuvu Mbikwana.
