Blast heard in the Fourways area is explained

FOURWAYS – What was the blast which took place around Fourways? Read to find out.

A blast was heard in Fourways at about 7pm on 10 April and Fourways Mall has confirmed that a planned blast took place within their construction area around that time due to upgrades and extension of the mall.

This after a post from Amy-Lee Jefferies who shared on the I Love Fourways Facebook page stating, ‘Tremor in Fourways, something has collapsed at Fourways Mall. Any information as to what it is?’

Following Jefferies’ concern, Fourways Review approached Fourways Mall for comment and according to Zoe van Onselen, head of marketing, there was no ‘collapse’ at the mall. “There was, however, a planned blast at approximately 7pm… which could have contributed to what Jefferies thought was a ‘tremor’,” Van Onselen explained.

She, however, added that she would provide Fourways Review with more information of future blasts planned for the upgrading of the mall.

This is a developing story and Fourways Review will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
