According to the chairperson of the Community Policing Forum, Jean Berdou, the protesters were protesting against service delivery. “The protest started at 10am this morning and the exact course of the protest is undergoing an investigation by the police,” Berdou said.

He added that the protesters burnt a few tires and a car. “Private Fidelity vehicles and Metro police vehicles were deployed to the area and the protesters were removed from the mall back to the township,” Berdou said.
Berdou concluded that the matter was calm but tense and the CPF will keep community members updated.
