Fourways Review journalist Marnelle Greyling reports that a vehicle caught alight on William Nicol Drive at the N1 Pretoria offramp. Metro police officer Nelisiwe Ndaba said, “We tried to extinguish the flames on the right side of the front wheel of the vehicle and the bonnet. We are not sure what caused the fire.”
According to the owner of the vehicle, who did not want to be named, said she knew something was wrong with her volvo but the dealership she took the vehicle to claimed that all was okay with the car. She added that she was shocked when she looked up and saw smoke coming from the bonnet. She pulled over and got out unharmed.
The incident has caused traffic delays on the road.
