Councillor for Ward 93, Candice James, shared her well-wishes with members of the community ahead of the festive season.

“How does one put 12 months into just 12 lines? Well, the year 2016 has been a year of change, hard work and new friends,” said James who added that for her, this year was all about the municipal elections with the first seven months merging into Election Day.

“Looking back now, it all seems a little blurry with public meetings, early mornings at robots and rallies and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who went out, stood in long queues and proudly made their mark.”

She added that post elections, her focus was to meet with existing and new ratepayers of Ward 93. “A special thank you for your warm welcome and your patience as I learnt about your suburbs’ histories. I really appreciated the reception.”

James stated that she would like to thank Region A staff, Metro police, Community Policing Forum members and the police, for their support and always being willing to help in any way possible.

“I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season and I am looking forward to spending time with you all next year.”
