New way to order food in Joburg North

SANDTON – Read about how UberEATS can deliver your food.

Inquisitive guests gathered at the launch of UberEATS at Katy’s Palace Bar in Sandton on 28 September.

This was all thanks to Uber who was excited to announce its new food delivery venture which became operational on 29 September for Johannesburg North residents.

UberEATS’s aims to aid residents who are hungry with a new, reliable way of ordering meals. Residents can request their favourite foods using the UberEATS App.

According to Alon Lits, general manager of Uber Sub-Saharan Africa, UberEATS is an on-demand food delivery App powered by Uber. “It is just as easy and convenient to use as the rides app people know and love. UberEATS partners with only the best local restaurants to get customers the food they want, delivered faster. UberEATS already offers some of the best food Jozi has to offer, including meals from the likes of Casalotti’s, Momo Baohaus, Krunch, Fishmonger and Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream,” Lits said.

“We are so excited to finally be launching UberEATS in Johannesburg. UberEATS makes life simpler and more satisfying for those who are short on time and, with the hustle and bustle in Joburg, we know it is the best city to launch in.”

The UberEATS App can be downloaded on the app store or through the Uber rides app and meals can be requested for delivery in northern Johannesburg from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week with a R20 delivery fee.

“UberEATS now offers those living in Johannesburg an alternative way of getting good food in good time, giving them great food at the touch of a button with no minimum order size.

“Good restaurants can now expand their business reach, while our delivery partners have access to new flexible economic opportunities. And, for the first time, restaurants will be able to use Uber’s data to get feedback from their customers.”

Couriers for this service will be made up of the best Uber driver-partners in Johannesburg, and eaters can rate their courier as well as the restaurant by giving them a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to ensure service stays excellent.

The delivery area across will be expanded soon, adding more restaurants to the app in the coming weeks in Gauteng.
