Another man in blue is nominated for Top Cop Award

FOURWAYS – Fourways Review together with Auto & General and the Douglasdale CPF are looking for the best cop, and here is another officer in the running for the win.

The men and women in blue of Douglasdale Police Station put their lives on the line for the safety of the community and the Top Cop Award is to honour and recognise their efforts.

“It gives me great pleasure to nominate Detective Victor Gabaekangoe for best detective as he is always punctual for duty and is always in possession of a pocketbook which is always up to date,” said Colonel Eric Mogashu of the Douglas Police Station.

“He is always dressed neatly according to the dress code because as a detective you have to look presentable to the clients you are dealing with on a daily basis.”

According to Mogashu, Gabaekangoe also performs standby duties.

“He is one of the members the branch commander can rely on to go the extra-mile. Even on standby, he is always willing to assist his colleagues if members of the community are witnesses and want to give statements… he is always willing to assist his colleagues in tracking and arresting the suspects.”

Gabaekangoe accomplishments include the arrest of three suspects who were found guilty of fraud.

“It is motivating and encouraging to work with a committed member like Detective Gabaekangoe and I believe he deserves to be the next Top Cop Award winner,” said Mogashu.
