Farewell to Warrant Officer

DOUGLASDALE – Douglasdale Police Station is bidding farewell to its head of communications, Warrant Officer Balan Muthan.

When asked how he felt about leaving the police station, Muthan said he felt heartsick and that it was bittersweet as he was leaving a community and members he grew fond of, and yet, new beginnings at a new place await him.

“I am only leaving on 31 August to the Honeydew Police Station, as I will be a captain there. I believe that at the end of it all, my hard work has paid off,” Muthan expressed.

He added that he plans to provide the same service at the new station as he did with the Douglasdale Police Station. “I am going to miss the Douglasdale community. They were a very friendly community who were always ready and willing to help the police, I will miss them a lot.

“I am not quite sure who will be replacing me, but I have been notified that it will be a woman who will be taking over from me.”

Muthan has been a vital tool in helping Fourways Review with comments and quotes needed for stories regarding crime or hard news.

The Fourways Review team would like to thank him for all his help and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
