#CrawfordTrackTheTorch in honour of Crawford Olympians

LONEHILL– Crawford schools commemorate the international Olympic games.

Crawford schools recently hosted their own torch relay #CrawfordTrackTheTorch to celebrate the success of their former pupils who made it as a part of the South African Olympic team competing in the international Rio Olympic games.

The event was held to lead up to the official Olympic torch ceremony on 5 August. The torch for #CrawfordTrackTheTorch was made specifically for the event as it was branded with the Crawford Schools logo and the five Olympic rings.

Crawford Lonehill and Fourways honoured and supported their five former pupils who will be competing in the prestigious global tournament, namely, Michael Meyer and Dylan Bosch from Sandton; Cameron van der Burgh and Jared Crous from Pretoria and Michelle Weber from La Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal.

The torch travelled throughout the country as it visited 16 Crawford Schools, before ending at Crawford Pretoria, where it is set to burn for the duration of the Olympics. This was to celebrate, create hype and cheer for the South African Olympic team.

The torch travelled for a week from Crawford Village to Crawford Pre-Primary Lonehill, Crawford College Lonehill and Crawford Preparatory Lonehill proceeding to Crawford Pre-Primary Fourways and then ended at Crawford Fourways, where it was relayed with stamina and enthusiasm to Crawford Pretoria.
