The IEC has revealed that the DA’s David Foley is the new councillor for Ward 94.
Foley steps into John Mendelsohn’s shoes, who has served the ward for the past 15 years.
Foley explained that he intended to help speed up service delivery in the ward, eradicate the number of illegal taxi ranks, identify bad driver behaviour, establish major developments putting a strain on current infrastructure and increased traffic volumes which tend to frustrate motorists.
He has served the community as chairperson of the Douglasdale Sector 4 Crime Forum and is the former director of the Lonehill Residents’ Association.
When asked for the number of votes received by the DA, Fourways MP Cameron Mackenzie said, “I cannot release the overall statistics of the… votes won, but I can state that the response for Ward 94 has been overwhelming.”
