300 blankets, 1 company

DAINFERN - In commemoration of Mandela Day, 300 knitted blankets were handed over to the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative at Auto & General in Dainfern.

Tom Creamer, chief executive officer of Telesure Investment Holdings, the holding company of Auto & General said, “We are so proud to be part of such an incredible and meaningful initiative. The many hours spent making our 300 blankets will no doubt make a massive impact on many people’s lives and perhaps even be used to break another world record.”

Creamer handed over the blankets to Carolyn Steyn, founder of 67 Blankets for Mandela Day.

Steyn handed out certificates to the women of the company and their family and friends who contributed to the knitting of the blankets, as she felt it was important to award them for their hard work and appreciated their efforts.

The 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative is known for its Guinness World Record for knitting the biggest blanket last year.
