300 blankets, 1 company
FOURWAYS - In commemoration of Mandela Day, 300 knitted blankets were handed over to the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative at Auto & General in Dainfern on 15 July.
Tom Creamer, chief executive officer of Telesure Investment Holdings (TIH) said, “We are so proud to be part of such an incredible and meaningful initiative. The many hours spent making our 300 blankets will no doubt make a massive impact on many people’s lives and perhaps even be used to break another world record.”
Creamer handed over the blankets to founder of 67 Blankets for Mandela Day, Carolyn Steyn, on behalf of Telesure Investment Holdings (TIH).
Steyn also handed out certificates to women from TIH and their family and friends who contributed to the 300 blankets, as she felt it was important to award them for their hard work and appreciated their efforts.
The 67 Blankets for Mandela Day initiative is known for its Guinesss World Record, for knitting and crocheting the biggest and longest blanket, which was reached last year on 21 April at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
