21-year-old Amy-Lee Jefferies has gone missing and her family is pleading for help from the community to help get her back home.

Amy Lee’s aunt, Starrene Stuart explained that Jefferies went missing around 8pm last night and was last seen on foot at Sasol Garage on Witkoppen Road at 11pm.

“We have been told that Amy-Lee gave her cell numbers to someone at the petrol station who was asking her why she was walking alone at night,” Stuart said.

Stuart added that this morning they noticed a missed call on Jefferies’ old number and they called the number back. “The missed call was from a man who stated that he was a petrol attendant at Sasol Garage who saw Amy-Lee walking alone last night. He was calling to ask if Amy-Lee was safe,” the concerned aunt said.

“We have opened a missing case and we pray that we find Amy-Lee.”

Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for the Douglasdale police said that if Jefferies has an OB number it would mean that she has been reported to the police station and a search by police has taken place to find her.

“The police will do all they can to find Jefferies but if she returns home the family needs to notify the police that she has indeed returned home,” Muthan said.

Sasol Garage management stated that they were aware of the missing person who was last seen at their garage. They are, however, going through their camera surveillance footage and they haven’t picked up on any sign of Jefferies so far. “We still have a lot of camera footage to go through so we will keep on checking for her. Even though there is no sign of her on our camera footage that doesn’t mean she wasn’t here. We will do whatever we can to help.”

Jefferies was last seen wearing black leggings and a black jersey. If anyone sees her, please contact the Douglasdale Police Station.
