A milk tanker caught fire on the evening of 11 July, on the N1 South on New Road in Midrand.
According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, at around 7.22pm, the N1 South was closed off to traffic due to the tanker being on fire. “Even though the tanker was on the side of the road, for safety reasons, the highway was closed until the fire department could extinguish the flames,” he said.
