Jogger robbed at knifepoint by biker

FOURWAYS – Think twice before taking your morning or evening jog.

Community members, who use the morning and evening hours to take a jog around their neighbourhood in the greater Fourways area, are advised to be vigilant when out there.

According to Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for the Douglasdale Police Station, it is important for people running when it is dark in the mornings and evenings to be wary and vigilant of their surroundings.

“The reason for this is because there is a wanted suspect on a motorbike who lurks around the area, stalking runners and robbing them at knifepoint.

The suspect’s motorbike has no number plates on it and there are two reported cases in the Douglasdale policing area thus far,” Muthan said.

If there is any information on this suspect, please contact the police station or dial 10111.

Details: 011 699 1300.
