A Father’s Day to celebrate the superheroes in our lives

LONEHILL - The dads came out to play at a superhero-themed Father's Day...

Pupils of the new Lonehill Preparatory School on Buchner Crescent Street in Lonehill celebrated a superhero-themed Father’s Day.

The event, which took place on 24 June, saw fathers of the pupils dressed in Batman, Superman and Spiderman costumes. “The reason why we are celebrating dads today is because they lead busy lives and we give them a day to spend quality time with their children. This day is about rejoicing the spirit of family and making us one,” said the owner and principal of the school, Siobhan Norris.

Norris further explained that the day meant a lot to the fathers, who only had good feedback of the day.

“This school is all about the children as we make sure they come first, and by doing so their education comes first. With our intimate structure, we consider this as a home away from home,” Norris said.

After the success of the nursery school, they wanted to extend their success further as it made sense for them to open a preparatory school. “We did not want to open an everyday run-of-the-mill preparatory school as it had to embrace the ethos of our nursery school, The Child Comes First. In a society where schools are praised for their results, we believe it is necessary to provide the child with an environment that nurtures their needs on an emotional level, trusting that the academics would follow,” Norris concluded.
