Body with seven stab wounds found in Diepsloot

DIEPSLOOT - An unidentified body of a man is found in Diepsloot Ext 1.

An identified body of a man was discovered recently in Diepsloot Ext 1 with seven stab wounds.

The corpse was picked up by a police mortuary van after members of the community alerted the Diepsloot police to the gruesome discovery.

Circumstances surrounding the man’s death are still unclear.

Diepsloot Police Station’s spokesperson Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela confirmed the incident. “We are investigating a case of murder,” he said.

Diepsloot DA councillor Refilwe Mathebula attributed the high crime rate in the township to alcohol abuse. “The unemployed and youths have nothing to do except drink. The situation is worse during weekends.”

She lamented the rate that men and the youth were dying in Diepsloot. “Our poor children’s lives are no longer valuable. They just die like that.”
