Penny Steyn tackles how to get help in an emergency

NORSCOT – Penny Steyn, founder of Domestic Watch Making a Difference (Mad) campaign returns to Norscot.

 

Domestic workers in Norscot will learn about the protocol and emergency required when calling for help in this week’s Domestic Watch lesson titled, In the line of duty.

Penny Steyn, founder of Domestic Watch Making a Difference (Mad) campaign explained that the lesson would be focused on how to make an emergency call. “If we don’t get this right we could end up with a potential disaster.

“I spent a long weekend in the 10111 call centre a number of years back… I want you to try and envision the challenges laid before these special folk [call centre operators] who are tasked to save our lives or at least help us in a shockingly bad situation,” Steyn said.

She added that managed correctly, calling for help could save lives.

The lesson will take place on 23 June at the Norscot Manor Recreation Centre at 9.30am.
