Diepsloot pupils benefit from Renew, Energize, Donate charity initiative

DIEPSLOOT- Riversands Primary Farm School gets much-needed aid.

A vegetable garden was planted and paving laid at Riversands Primary Farm School in Diepsloot as part of Renew, Energize, Donate (Red) Charity day initiative that took place internationally on 12 May.

This was thanks to Keller Williams Clockwork Properties, Sandton branch.

“The annual international day was for each Keller Williams office in the world to attempt to give back to the community where they work in a meaningful way,” said Deon Tromp, operating principal of the company.

“This is done by helping to assist those who are less fortunate as we try to make a difference in the lives of whoever we can reach.”

He added that the paving was in front of the Grade 3’s classroom and it would prevent pupils having to step in mud before they enter the class. “I hope when the rainy season comes, the pupils will understand what we are doing today; and when they eat their warm winter soup they will remember us,” Tromp said.

He added that they would love to adopt the school, and their future plans would be to donate mobile toilets and fix classroom ceilings and gutters at the school.

“The school has 807 pupils and we are supposed to have 500 pupils, so we are in desperate need of help,” headmistress of the school, Gift Majela said.

“We accept any donations of any kind as our computers were stolen last week as well as our cleaning detergents.”

Majela added that the school appreciated what Keller Williams Real Estate had done for them.
